Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center ![]() Nearly 30 Years of Caring for the Community Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa has served Sonoma County communities since 1980, beginning with medical offices in temporary facilities at Creekside Plaza. Today we serve over 166,600 members in Sonoma County. More than 2,500 physicians, nurses, other health care professionals and support staff provide a full range of services to members in every primary care field and major subspecialty. We provide quality care and integrated services that are synonymous with Kaiser Permanente. Partnering with our members and local communities, we strive to promote health and wellness throughout the region. Community Benefit Safety Net Clinics, Children’s Health & Community Partnerships Kaiser Permanente’s tradition of wellness, prevention, and community involvement is central to who we are and what we do. In Sonoma County, Santa Rosa Medical Center supports a variety of Community Benefit programs that make a healthy difference in the communities we serve. The past three years, Kaiser Permanente Northern California Community Benefit program has donated millions of dollars to community clinics, public hospitals, and clinic consortia that make up a health care safety net for our region’s uninsured and underserved. We are unique among safety-net supporters in that we contribute health care resources and expertise, as well as significant funding. In Sonoma County, our Community Benefit support strengthens the safety net of care by improving quality, increasing patient access, and upgrading health information technology for community partners such as: Alexander Valley Regional Medical Center, Alliance Medical Center, Jewish Free Clinic, Petaluma Community Health Center, Roseland Children’s Health Center, Santa Rosa Free Clinic, Southwest Community Health Center, Sonoma Valley Health Center, and West County Health Centers. Kaiser Permanente is always seeking new ways to improve children's health and make our neighborhoods and communities healthier places to live, learn, work and play. one way we do this locally is by sponsoring Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) programs that address obesity (The HEAL project is supported by a multi-year Kaiser Permanente Regional Community Benefit/Community Health Improvement grant.) HEAL grants support programs such as Redwood Empire Food Bank, Community Child Care Center (4C's). In addition, Santa Rosa Medical Center is proud of our community partnership programs, which include: the Clean Slate Tattoo Removal Program, Sonoma Health Alliance, and Neighbors in Health, a free day of health care for uninsured children that is provided at Santa Rosa Medical Center, a community partnership with Kaiser Permanente, United Way of the Wine Country, the City of Santa Rosa, Community Action Partnership, Sonoma County Department of Health Services, the Press Democrat and 100 local community-based agencies and business donors. In 2008, the annual event provided preventive medical and dental care, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care to more than 500 children. Educational Theatre Programs Kaiser Permanente’s award winning Educational Theatre Program (ETP) uses live theatre, music, dance, comedy, and dramatic performances to inspire audiences throughout Northern California to make healthy lifestyle choices. In 2008, ETP gave free performances at Marin-Sonoma schools and special events for nearly 17,000 children and more than 4,000 adults. Educational Theater also offers educator orientations, classroom workshops, educator and student activity guides, and Family Night performances.
